Landkreis Wolfenbüttel, Braunschweig, Sickte coming or available?

I hired a genealogist and got many records from Sickte and nearby towns several years ago. I hoped that eventually these would be included in Archion, but they are not included yet. Does anyone know if they will be included eventually or if the archives in Wolfenbüttel are not cooperating on this one?

It would be interesting to learn more about the progress of Archion overall. For example, what percentage of churches have been put on Archion, what percentage are expected to come, and what percentage will not come (and why).

Does anyone happen to know if civil registration can be searched online for Braunschweig region as well?

….regarding Wolfenbüttel and it‘s holdings…

Are you aware of this thread?

It answers at least many of your questions.

Kind regards.

No, but now I have read it. Thank you. I understand now that the state archive has chosen so far not to participate.

If anyone can tell me if civil registration or church books are online in their archival System Arcinsys or otherwise available please let me know. I can of course also try to look myself in that system. So far it sounds like the only availability is at the archive in person. I did not mind hiring a genealogist to extend my line into the past, but now that I want to fill in gaps or help a cousin find out how he is related to my branch of the family, having my own access online would make such work practical. Otherwise it seems I must wait.

Other than that I am afraid, but you need to be more specific regarding the places you‘re looking for.

Elijah,

if you are interested - in addition to Church books - looking into the Civil Registration records, you don't have to wait at all.
They are all free available at the familysearch.org site. You need to register to see them, but it is free. However,
these registers are a bit trickier to read because they are not really formalized, like church register entries. Well, they are, but they were Napoleon's instructions ;-)
However, freely available. Just enter the “catalog” on their site and then enter the place name when searching for the “place”. If there was a civil register, it will be listed there.
On this subject, they had microfilmed almost everything through the 1970th. Today digitized!

Good luck.
