Volhynians

My great grandfather timotheous fandrich, emigrated from Warmia Masuria to Volhynia before 1881. On the birth records for my great uncle and grandmother it says he was a Russian citizen and a cantor. They were Lutherans. Please explain for me.

thank you.

And what is your question, please?

The history of Volhynia (today mostly a region in Westukraine) can be found on the Web.

Where to find Ukrainian church registers is in example explained here.

The family name "Fandrich" looks in Cyrillic letters like this: Фандрич
That might be helpful to know when you search FamilySearch for "Fandrich, Volhynia" and look thru the provided search results.

A pure example!!
The index i.e. comes up with this

....and then you'll have to manually browse thru the pages of the corresponding film (effective records are recorded in German, in Latin Alphabet) and end up here in Russian Lutheran record (for my example above)

>> see second but last record on this page >> no. 1026
Death in September 1885 of Auguste Fandrich, daughter of Michael Fandrich and his wife Juliane, nee Bauer

In any way Archion can not help here. Sorry.
