Help finding Anna 'Fondlar' from Hamburg

Hello everyone, yes I think it's a good idea to provide documentation. The above Anna Fendler, I do not think she is my Anna. I should have been more careful in my initial response :) I really appreciate the energy and efforts!

The immigration record from the arrival port at Baltimore that has matching information to the below (DOB 1843 and from Germany) calls her Anna Fandelar.

In Baltimore Anna married Franz Zylicz and they had a son Franz in 1865. The family then moves to Franklin Louisiana.

All of the available US census reports say she was born in Germany or Prussia and in 1843.

A newspaper article regarding a court case names her as Anna P Fondelar, wife of Franz Zylicz (this is the only middle initial that I have noticed, so a good clue if accurate).

Anna's gravestone says:
Anna Fondlar
Born in Hamburg Germany Oct 22, 1843
Died January 7, 1914
Beloved wife of Frank Zylicz

Her death certificate (signed by her son) also backs up this information with the same DOB and DOD, and says she was born in Germany - but does not have her maiden name.

Her death announcement with the same DOB and DOD calls her Anna Fouteleroy Zyclicz.

My goal is to establish her in Germany, and then find her parents and other family. It has been difficult with the changing of her name when she arrived in Baltimore - I presume that is what happened. That the American officials heard her German surname and phoenetically changed it to how it sounded. This is how I arrived at Wendler as her possible last name but I am open to all suggestions :)

I totally agree with Vera that you need the marriage certificate for Anna with additional information regarding her origin to take the next steps.

Searching for some Baltimore documents I found the following: Franz August Hermann, born in 1865 in Baltimore. I'm afraid that the Anna Fondelar mentioned in this entry has nothing to do with your Anna ... I strongly recommend to do the search in a structured way and step by step.

... this seems to be the source for the supposed middle name of Anna: Anna F. Zylicz.
It's a mess: In the newspaper clipping we read Anna Fouteleroy Zylicz, in the headline on the right-hand side we read Anna Fondlar Zylicz. Sorry, but a serious research using these "sources" is just not possible... ;-)

According to this record, Anna was not born in Hamburg, but in Homburg vor der Höhe (today Bad Homburg) in Hesse.

@efallen567

Church registers for the parish im „Homburg vor der Hoehe“ (today: Bad Homburg) are not(!) yet online available at Archion.

So don‘t / never take these cited data for granted simply „because it seems to fit“ as long as these data have not been verified and undoubtedly been proven!!

Other than that get a copy of that marriage entry from the Baltimore church register.

This is very exciting information - a clue to follow. I will write to the city for information if I can figure out how to do that. Thank you so much @eggi And @vnagel2004 - I will try to find more and not take it for granted. It is a possibility to chase. I appreciate you both. Thank you!

Please closely check the link @eggi provided.

On the right of that website you see the name of the gentleman -Rainer Dörry- (in blue) mentioned who worked with these Baltimore Churchregisters of the Zion parish.

Simply click on his name and kindly ask him to send you a copy of this entry.
