An extensive collection of over 100,000 digitized index cards from the former district „Kreis Jerichow II“ is now available online.
This collection was compiled over a period of ten years during the Nazi era at the former „Kreissippenamt“ in Genthin. Church records and other historical documents were evaluated and specifically compiled for the creation of this family history card index. It provides a valuable source of information for genealogical research, as it contains clearly structured life data of individual persons.
Last year, the Church Archive in Magdeburg („Landeskirchenarchiv Magdeburg“) launched a project to unlock and digitize this significant resource. To enable quick and efficient access, all index cards have been sorted alphabetically by surname. The card index can be researched online here
